Mr. Kalim has over 20 years of air quality consulting and program implementation experience, providing project management and technical support to air quality programs related to preconstruction permits, operating permits, emission statements, stack testing, and mobile sources. He specializes in environmental compliance and has managed multi-million, multi-year environmental support contracts.
Mr. Kalim developed eFinder, a MS Access database, streamlined with a graphical user interface to manage the information that NJDEP staff needs to review and process permit applications. eFinder has been in continuous use by New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP) air program for more than 15 years and has been a key element in maintain procedural consistency and quality of New Jersey’s air program. The EPA’s 2009 audit report of New Jersey’s Title V program recognized the direct contribution of eFinder in the overall quality of New Jersey’s permitting program.
Mr. Kalim has worked as Project and Planning Engineer at Exxon Chemical. He supervised preventive and breakdown maintenance and coordinated fabrication of equipment for de-bottleneck and manufacturing excellence projects. He developed facility turnaround and shutdown plans and facilitated execution of turnarounds costing more than $2.5 million and involving deployment of more than 400 skilled personnel. He prepared capital and expense budgets and has coordinated award of plant engineering contracts, costing up to $2 million.
